Ensuring the safety and well-being of children is of utmost importance in cultivating a secure and thriving school community. To fulfil this commitment, KIS has appointed dedicated Child Protection Officers (CPOs) and additional responders who form the Child Protection Team. Every member of staff and the KIS community bears the responsibility to uphold child protection practices to the best of their abilities and understanding.

Membership in the GSC reflects our ongoing commitment to creating a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for every member of our school community. Through this partnership, we have access to expert-led training, best-practice frameworks, and up-to-date research on safeguarding and wellbeing. The GSC also provides opportunities for our staff to engage with a global network of safeguarding specialists and peer schools who share the same priorities and challenges.

By working collaboratively with the GSC, we can continuously review and strengthen our safeguarding systems, enrich professional learning, and cultivate a community-wide culture in which safety, respect, and well-being are understood, valued, and upheld by all.

Ms Anson Lam Speaks at “Stronger Safeguarding TogetherConference – 22 April 2026

We are incredibly proud to share that our Designated Safeguarding Lead and Head of Counselling, Ms. Anson Lam, was invited to speak at the “Stronger Safeguarding Together – A Collaborative Child Protection Conference in Hong Kong” on Wednesday, 22 April .

This important event brought together safeguarding professionals from many leading schools across Hong Kong, including but not limited to VSA, Kellett, ISF, ESF, and DC. At this meaningful gathering, Anson delivered a presentation titled “Building a Culture of Care: How to Launch and Scale Critical School Support Functions in Record Time.” Her presentation highlighted how schools can quickly establish and strengthen vital support systems, while nurturing a culture where every student feels safe, supported, and truly seen

Her session was exceptionally well received by attendees and organisers alike, who praised her engaging delivery, sense of humour, and deep care for the community. Her practical, evidence-based insights resonated strongly, highlighting the importance of building strong partnerships and moving beyond compliance to create a truly collaborative safety net for students.

We are inspired to see Anson’s dedication and expertise recognised on such a meaningful platform. Her work continues to make a lasting impact within our school and across the wider education community.
