Chinese (Mandarin) Programme

Being able to effectively communicate ideas is an integral part of belonging to a society. That means that language development is one of the most critically important skills to develop to help them in the future; in their studies, forging bonds with others, and in their careers. With this sense of imperativeness, we are dedicated to developing a balanced, holistic curriculum to promote students’ competency in languages as well as an understanding and appreciation towards cultures.

The importance placed on Chinese languages at KIS is demonstrated by offering different streams which meet the needs of students with diverse Chinese learning backgrounds and differences in Chinese proficiency, from Reception to Year 13, providing valuable experiences in learning Chinese language, culture, heritage, and history. When students graduate from our programme, our aim is that they be equipped with the competencies to compete in a global workforce with a degree of proficiency in Chinese.
