SCHOOL NURSE
The School Nurse at KIS delivers essential healthcare services to students and staff, fostering a safe and healthy school environment and upholding the school’s safeguarding and well-being framework. With professional expertise, compassionate care, and clear communication, the Nurse supports the health and well-being of the entire school community.
The role of the School Nurse is as follows:
- Provide first aid and nursing care in line with school policies.
- Respond to medical emergencies.
- Record all visits, treatments, and follow-ups accurately.
- Submit injury and incident reports.
- Manage the medical room, supplies, and equipment.
- Maintain confidential, up-to-date medical records.
- Coordinate health information and consents with parents.
- Support students with medical needs and care plans.
- Liaise with external health services and appointments.
- Deliver health education and promote wellbeing.
- Support vaccinations, health surveillance, and outbreak response.
- Contribute to safeguarding and report concerns.
- Provide medical support at school events and activities.
