Cultural Fair 2023

The first annual Primary Cultural Fair on Thursday 14th December 2023 was a resounding success, celebrating the diverse cultures and talents within our school community. Students from various countries came together to showcase their cultural heritage through performances, food, and games. This event also aligns with the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) learning goals, which focus on personal, academic, and international learning to prepare children for the world of today and the future. The IPC emphasizes the acquisition of skills in context and the development of relevant knowledge, which is evident in the students’ active participation and their deeper understanding of different cultures during the fair. The fair provided an opportunity for students to learn about new cultures, make friends, and develop valuable life skills, all of which are central to the IPC’s learning goals. By integrating the IPC learning goals into the Cultural Fair, we not only celebrated our cultural diversity but also provided a platform for our students to grow and learn in line with the principles of the IPC.

Students representing various countries, including Hong Kong, China, Japan, India, Philippines, South Africa, Ireland, France, Australia, South Korea, USA, and Canada, came together to celebrate their cultures. It was truly amazing to see so many students actively participate and share their unique cultural heritage with the rest of the school. Our primary and primary springboard students truly shone during the event. They put on outstanding performances that showcased their incredible skills and knowledge of their respective cultures. The energy and enthusiasm they brought to the stage was infectious, and their performances left the audience in awe.

The event was not only a celebration of our school’s cultural diversity but also a chance for students to learn and grow. It was an opportunity for them to explore new cultures, make new friends, and develop a deeper understanding of the world around them. Looking back on this incredible event, we cannot help but feel a sense of pride and accomplishment. Our students truly made the fair a memorable and inspiring experience.

The event raised a total of HKD$54,766.00, with HKD$27,385.00 being donated to Operation Santa Claus (OSC). Additionally, OSC has awarded our school with the Most Creative Fundraising School Award.
