SPORTS PROGRAMME

Our team of dedicated individuals are here to offer and provide support for most programs that happen outside of the regular academic day. These programs are incredibly fulfilling and fun for both our students, but also for the teachers and administrators that support them. We hope you will help us reach our goal that all students should be involved in at least one activity per term while balancing the commitment with the academic demands of our school.

Our program is designed to expose students to a wide range of sports and activities, allowing them to discover their interests and passions in sports. Through our carefully crafted curriculum, we aim to provide a holistic approach to physical education, emphasizing the importance of skill development, lifelong healthy habits and physical literacy while providing opportunities for exploration and enjoyment. Some of which are:

SPORTS TEAM – The sports team program in our school is an essential part of our educational experience. It promotes physical activity, teamwork, and school spirit. Students have the chance to explore different sports, develop valuable life skills, and build lasting friendships. The program fosters a supportive and inclusive environment, allowing students to showcase their talents and represent our school proudly.

  • Basketball (U18, U14, U12, U11, and U9)
  • Football (U14, U11, and U9)
  • Swimming (U16)
  • Fencing
  • Badminton
  • Ultimate Frisbee

LEAGUE and FIXTURES – Competitive sport opportunities are also available, our school teams train regularly and compete seasonally against other international schools. Additionally, we are currently part of APSSO, ISSFHK and HKSSF inter-school sports organizations.

SPORTS ECA – ECAs in sports provide a more diverse and inclusive platform for students to explore and engage in physical activities, develop skills, and foster a sense of community and personal growth. Through sports ECAs, students can explore different sports, learn important life lessons such as dedication and perseverance, and develop a strong work ethic.

SWIMMING – Swimming is an important life skill taught at KIS with the help of Stanford coaches. Students have compulsory weekly swimming lessons as part of their PE curriculum. Swimming provides lifelong skills, health benefits, and opportunities for recreational activities. KIS believes that every child should learn to swim proficiently and early. The Stanford Swimming Program builds a strong swimming foundation and boosts confidence through basic techniques.

NOTE: Students unable to swim require a medical note for exemption from swimming.
