Kindergarten - Korean Section
Kindergarten curriculum is designed based on the 6 Life Spheres of the 6th Kindergarten under the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Korea. In order to have the same standard as other international schools, KIS provides children with special activities under a strengthened curriculum which includes foreign languages and computer skills.

Total number of classes is 200 days, including summer and winter school.
(8hrs/day, 5days/week, 40 weeks/year, 1st semester – 16 weeks, 2nd semester 24 weeks)

6 Life Spheres of the 6th Kindergarten Syllabus

1. Language Life Sphere

By the end of the Kindergarten program and through story telling, fairy tales, poems, theatre performances and language lessons, children will:

-

communicate with people

-

distinguish sounds and articulate them correctly

-

use vocabulary and sentences which are related to daily life

-

read and write

2. Express Life Sphere

By the end of the Kindergarten program and through various activities, songs, arts, body language and role-play, children will:

-

have a positive attitude of themselves

-

have a desire to finish work themselves with curiosity

-

express feelings and think creatively through a variety of realities and phenomenon

3. Social Life Sphere

By the end of the Kindergarten program, children will:

-

realize the basic definition of nature phenomenon through make up activities, logical thinking, classification, definition of numbers, time and space

-

experience difference activities and games through imagination and creativity

4. Social Life Sphere

By the end of the Kindergarten program, children will:

-

be accustomed to life behaviours and attitudes, group life, and patriotism

5. Physical Life Sphere

By the end of the Kindergarten program and through athletic games, indoor and outdoor games, children will:

-

develop body control abilities through harmony of sensibility , body and muscular developments

-

acquire basic habits for health maintenance and an awareness of standards of personal cleanliness, nutrition, and safety issues

6. Science Life Sphere

By the end of the Kindergarten program, through experiments, practical exercises, and observations, children will:

-

possess a scientific mind and problem solving ability

-

have a logical and creative thinking

-

have a sense of curiosity and discover creative ideas through a variety of scientific activities
