The
ITLC (Information Technology Learning Centre) Laboratory
is located on the 3rd floor of the school in Room 305.
It has a total number of 40 Pentium IV Compaq PCs and
is networked using a fibre-optic network.
All PCs are linked to a reliable Internet Server, which
uses a digital data network line to allow e-mail communication
and outside research facilities to be accessed. The
PCs are installed with Windows XP operating system;
30 PCs having English version and 10 PCs having Dual
Language (Chinese and English) version.
The laboratory is also equipped with a projector, a
surround sound speaker, audio-visual and electronic
resources such as a cassette/ VHS/ VCD/ DVD players
and interactive multi-media online materials which are
used for class subject presentations and teaching. It
allows students and teachers to integrate new technologies
in education in ways that strengthen and enrich learning.
It also has a networked laser printer used to print
student’s school work and assignments.
Primary students and Secondary students have one scheduled
ITLC period per week. Students have their own private
drive for storing their work which gives them access
to their own files. They are asked to operate the computers
properly and to ask the teacher for help if they experience
any difficulty.
The ITLC lab is primarily used for doing assignments,
online quizzes and research. Its usage had dramatically
increased, having 2-3 classes making excellent use of
our IT resources. The ITLC lab has permanent bookings
for the ITLC and MSL (Mandarin as Secondary Language)
classes, once a week for each class and is also available
for reservations.
