To mark the 10th Anniversary of its existence, Korean
International School, in January 2004, launched a "$10
million Scholarship Program", available to all
students in Hong Kong, entering Secondary grades, (7
to 12).
The program, proposed by then Assistant Principal,
Mr. Taras Kozyra, and approved unanimously by the KIS
School Board, consists of, 125 full-tuition
scholarships, each with a value of $80.000.
The program is projected to run for the next 7 years,
with 5 scholarships to be offered at each grade level,
i.e. 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12.
Available to students with high academic and leadership
qualities, the program aims to establish a core of excellence
for the Secondary Program at KIS, and lead to excellent
graduating classes.
All students. in Hong Kong schools,
from grade 6 and up, including those already attending
KIS, may apply.
Besides academic excellence, the selection criteria
puts special emphasis on good citizenship and leadership
qualities.
In the school year 2007 -2008, KIS will have a complete
grade 12 program that, along with the curriculum offered
at grades 9 through 12, will offer excellent preparation
for both university and vocational institution entrance.
